Two weeks in to the Science 140 project and we have been simply blown away by both the quantity and quality of the submitted tweets! In the last 14 days, we have received over 700 #science140 explanations, facts, definitions, biographies and even jokes (and that doesn't include retweets or promoting tweets from ourselves and others). Our busiest day was on Monday last when over 150 science themed jokes were shared used the #science140 hashtag! It was a great laugh and stay tuned for a quick post on my favourite jokes.
Some tweets have proven very popular, receiving loads of retweets and comments. Two of those popular tweets have inspired Alan B (@HybridVigour), an Irish illustrator, to bring them alive and represent them in picture form. We absolutely love Alan's amazing illustrations, which we feel represent the explanations wonderfully while remaining fun, bright and colourful. Great job Alan B! I think, as long as Alan's willing to do so, the Science140 book would benefit hugely from a few more of his illustrations. These two are just fantastic. :)
